Gandhar style: Gandhar style is an elegant combination of Indian and Greek art. This art was exposed by the Mahayana sect of Buddhism. The Mahayana sect considers Lord Buddha as their god in their idolatry. The Gandhara style carvings depict the limbs. The Gandhara style is believed to have fully developed in the time of the Kushan kings. Dharmarajika Stupa of Takshashila (Tashila), Manikmala soup near Rawalpindi etc. are very famous in this style.

These stupas are found to be cylindrical in shape. Mathura Shelley: In the early centuries AD, another new 48 art-style emerged in Mathura. Mathura town became the main center of this art style. It is known as the art of ‘Mathura style’. Statues of Buddha and Bodhisattvas were first made in Mathura.

It has the best features of the art tradition. Mathura protected these idols and then the sculptors. She became a mentor for drama and art in education. E.g, Amravati's Kalavritti (Satvahana dynasty) is a masterpiece of mad elephant running and frightened men and women in the palace. Dravidian style of South India: Many Buddhist stupas were built in the area around the rivers Krishna and Godavari during the time of the Satvahana kings. These stupas are semicircular and oval as well as with bell-shaped tops.

The Stupa of Nagarjuna Konda and the Stupa of Amravati are excellent examples of this style.  Gupta Art (Golden Age of Art): The Gupta Age saw the development of sculptures, architecture, painting, dance, music, carving, etc., hence it is called the 'Golden Age of Indian Art'.
